Hey Gang - Here's a very special 1954 Les Paul Junior Serial Number 4 4210 in original sunburst finish. Gibson's introductory year for this model. We couldn't be happier with the way it plays and sounds. The single dog ear P-90 pumps out an incredible tonal range. From soft chimey clean tones, to legendary Leslie West tones from Mountain. Truly a phenomenal instrument.
A few things to note upon receiving the guitar, was the previous owner saved us the trouble years ago and installed a stud in the high E bridge position allowing for a stronger intonation, leaving some small signs of stress before the install was made. It is absolutely solid as is. We did swap out the tailpiece to a period correct bridge that was shaved down, again allowing for better intonation. The original jack-plate was replace, (we have the original). All other parts and electronics are completely original. The tuner heads have shrunk over the years, but are still in great shape with tuning to be very accurate and have very good moving in the machines themselves. The speed knobs are so so cool! These guitars are the epitome of cool! Cosmetically the guitar was certainly passed around and has seen it's fair share of use. This is no closet or under the bed untouched guitar. Plenty of checking in the nitrocellulose finish and markings adorn this fine guitar. We love it!
Neck profile is a bit of the classic 50's chunky slight "V" contour. So easy to play! Weighing in at 7Lbs 3oz, it's basically the perfect weight. We have to tell you, whoever played this guitar for all those years, must've been a gentle player because these frets are flawless and all original! 1.666m Nut Width / 2.021m 12th Fret. .066 Fret width. Original Nut. Original potentiometers and capacitor.
